Part Execution Split
PART EXECUTION SPLIT
Part Execution Split is used to document part-in-progress time for a Control Task when execution crosses an operator handover or shift boundary.
Instead of treating that running part time as idle time, DMeX keeps it against the related Machine + Part / Control Plan + Process + Control Task combination and records how the process cycle time is split between the Start Operator and End Operator.
1. Search Part Execution Split
1.1 Access the Screen
Step 1: Navigate to the screen
- From the main menu, go to Production & Quality -> Operations -> Part Execution Split
1.2 Search Filters
Use the following fields to search split records:
- From Date
- To Date
- Machine
- Search
- Clear
Search behavior
- Keep Machine as All Machines if you want to view records across all machines.
- Click Search to fetch the matching split records.
- Click Clear to reset the filter values and search again.
1.3 When This Screen Is Used
Use this screen when:
- a part is already being processed in Control Task
- the process cycle is not fully completed within the current operator or current shift
- the remaining cycle time must be tracked as part in progress
- the running time should not be treated as idle time
- the execution must be traceable between the operator who started the part and the operator who completed it
A split entry can initially show only Start Operator and Start Operator Time.
Once the remaining cycle time is completed, the End Operator and End Operator Time can also be recorded.
1.4 Results Grid
The search results display the following columns:
- S.No
- View/Edit
- Start Operator
- End Operator
- Process
- Machine
- Control Task
- Date
- Start Operator Time (Mins)
- End Operator Time (Mins)
What the results mean
- Each row represents a split record linked to a specific Control Task.
- The row shows the machine, process, control task reference, and the operator-wise time split.
- If End Operator is blank, the part may still be in progress or waiting for completion of the remaining split time.
2. Edit Part Execution Split
Click the View/Edit action from the results grid to open the selected split record.
In edit mode, this screen is mainly used for verification. Most fields are read-only, so the user can review the split details without changing the original control task reference, operator details, or audit information.
The user can add or update only the Updated Start Operator Time (Mins) and Updated End Operator Time (Mins) fields when a time correction is required.
The edit screen shows the following fields:
| Field | Purpose | Edit Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Start Operator | Shows the operator who started the part execution. | Read-only |
| End Operator | Shows the operator who completed the remaining part execution after the split. | Read-only |
| Machine | Shows the machine on which the part was processed. | Read-only |
| Part - Control Plan | Shows the part and control plan linked to the control task. | Read-only |
| Process | Shows the production process for the selected split record. | Read-only |
| Start Operator Time (Mins) | Shows the original time consumed by the start operator. | Read-only |
| End Operator Time (Mins) | Shows the original time consumed by the end operator. | Read-only |
| Updated Start Operator Time (Mins) | Used to enter the corrected start operator time, if the split needs adjustment. | Editable |
| Updated End Operator Time (Mins) | Used to enter the corrected end operator time, if the split needs adjustment. | Editable |
| Date & Time | Shows when the split entry belongs to the production execution. | Read-only |
| Created By | Shows the user who created the split record. | Read-only |
| Created Date & Time | Shows when the split record was created. | Read-only |
| Modified By | Shows the user who last updated the split record. | Read-only |
| Modified Date & Time | Shows when the split record was last updated. | Read-only |
| Process Cycle Time | Shows the expected cycle time used to verify whether the split time is correct. | Read-only |
2.1 Purpose of the Edit Screen
Use the edit screen to:
- review the split captured for the selected control task
- verify how much time was consumed by the start operator and end operator
- view the record details in a verification mode
- keep all reference and audit fields as read-only
- add or update only the start time and end time fields when correction is required
- align the recorded split with the displayed Process Cycle Time
- retain a proper audit trail through created and modified details
2.2 Understanding the Time Split
- Start Operator Time (Mins) shows the portion of cycle time consumed by the operator who began the part.
- End Operator Time (Mins) shows the remaining portion completed by the same operator later or by the next operator after handover.
- In edit mode, only the start time and end time related fields can be added or updated. All other fields are available for reference only.
- When the part is fully completed, the overall split should align with the Process Cycle Time shown on the screen.
This module supports shift-based production continuity.
When a part continues beyond one operator's available working time, that running time is captured here as a split against the same control task instead of being treated as idle time.
2.3 Save or Cancel
- Click Submit to save the updated start time and end time details.
- Click Cancel to return to the search results without saving changes.
3. Information
- Part Execution Split is a follow-up tracking screen for Control Task execution.
- It helps document part in progress during operator or shift handover.
- It keeps execution traceable at machine, process, part-control plan, and control task level.
- It prevents valid running time from being misunderstood as idle time.
- The audit fields help track who created and last modified the split entry.
That's it! You now know how to search, review, and update Part Execution Split records in DMeX.
